Get a library card
All area residents are entitled to free library service. Library cards will be issued to any resident who is 4 years or older. All library card applicants less than 14 years of age will be asked for the signature of a parent or guardian. Applicants over 14 years of age must provide a valid Photo I.D. and proof of Iowa Residency. There will be a $1.00 charge to replace a lost card.
Check out e-books and e-audio books
Visit Bridges on your mobile phone or tablet and search for “Adel Public Library” which will ask you to log in using your library card number. Once you have logged in, you may borrow up to three items at a time for two weeks, place holds on items currently checked out, or request new items.
Renew my items
DVD’s are checked out for a one week. Books, audio books, and magazines may be checked out for a two-weeks. Items from our Stuff Shelf, Daycare Kits, and Playaway Lauchpads may be checked our for three weeks. All items may be renewed one time.
Reserve an item
Patrons may request that any items be held for them. The patron will be notified when the item is available. If the item is not claimed within 6 business days, the item will be returned to the shelf or referred to the next person on the list.
If the book is not available at the library, we may be able to obtain it with an Interlibrary loan from another library.
Requests to renew checked out items, reserve new items, or Interlibrary loan materials may be made in person, by phone @515-993-3512, or by email.
