Check out these upcoming August Library Activities!

• Friends of the Library Book Sale - Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th the library will be holding their annual Friends of the Library Book Sale.  Saturday the book sale is open from 9:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. The book sale is open 10:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. on Friday for friends of the library only.  People wishing to become friends of the library may do so by signing up at the library or at the book sale.  Individual membership is only $5.   Proceeds from the booksale go to support next year’s summer reading program!
• Teen Movie – Monday, August 10th at 2:00 p.m. Teens can enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends at the library.  We will be watching 10 Things I Hate About You.  Popcorn will be provided. Attendees must have completed 6th grade.
• Lego Building Competition – On Wednesday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. we will be hosting a Lego building competition for kids.  Contestants will have an hour to build a Lego creation using either the library’s Legos or their own personal Legos.  Prizes will be awarded for the best creations!
• American Girl Tea Party – On Wednesday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. we will also be hosting our American Girl Tea Party.  Join us for snacks, games, and fun.  All participants are encouraged to bring their favorite doll or stuffed animal and to dress-up.  Sign-up is required by Monday the 10th.  To sign-up you can send an email to laura@adelpl.org with each participants name or by stopping into the library. 
• Blast From the Past Fun Night – Friday, August 14th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. the library will be hosting a 50’s night complete with car show, rootbeer floats, games, karaoke, music, 50’s costume contest and a hula hoop showdown.  For more information please contact Paula or Laura at the library.
